  California's proposal 65, the drinking water safety and toxic substances Enforcement Act of 1986, was issued in November 1986. Its purpose is to protect the drinking water sources of California residents and the state, so that the water sources do not contain substances known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive development hazards, and to inform the residents when such substances appear. California Proposition 65 regulates chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity in California. More than 700 chemicals have been classified as such chemicals and regulated.

  Document No.65 requirements for glassware and ceramics
  The safe drinking water and poisons Enforcement Act of 1986, Document No. 65, requires that any product in California that emits carcinogenic or regenerative chemicals be marked with a warning. The listed chemicals include lead and cadmium.
  The court has issued a new trial ruling in a recent lawsuit filed in document 65, which ruled that the defendant must remake glassware and ceramics decorated with lead and cadmium. Products that meet remanufacturing standards can be sold in California without the warning required by document 65.
  Products include:
  ·Glass and ceramic products for food or drink storage and storage
  ·Glass and ceramic products for non food or beverage use (daily necessities)
  External decoration refers to the coloring graphics, design and production on the external surface of products. The exterior decoration, including the design extending to the edge area, can only use materials that meet the remanufacturing standards for lead and cadmium. Children's products must meet a series of more stringent remanufacturing standards.
  For the products that can not meet the remanufacturing standard, the product should be marked with the warning required by Document No. 65.
  Listed below is a consensus guideline on warning signs for glassware and ceramic ware.
  Glassware
  All children's products:
  Only decorative materials containing less than 0.06 lead and 0.48 cadmium shall be used for external decoration, including edge areas.
  Food / beverage products (edge decorated)
  Only decorative materials containing less than 0.06 lead and 0.48 cadmium shall be used for external decoration, including edge areas.
  All external decoration extending to the edge area can only use decoration materials without detectable lead or cadmium (≤ 0.02% lead, ≤ 0.08% cadmium).
  Non food / beverage products:
  In the wipe test (National Institutes of health test method 9100), the external decoration must be less than 1.0 μ g of lead or less than 8.0 μ g of cadmium. perhaps
  Only decorative materials containing less than 0.06 lead and 0.48 cadmium shall be used for external decoration, including edge areas. Or in the wipe test (National Institutes of health test method 9100), all decorative parts of the surface must contain only less than 4.0 μ g of lead or 32.0 μ g of cadmium.
